This completes our short series on knitting covering some basic ‘must have’ stitches; casting off allows you to finish your work so that it won’t unravel and gives a platted top edge.  Rosee has a great tip about tension and also points out that the platt will look different depending whether you cast off on a knit row or a purl row.

Once you have mastered this section, you will be able to pick up a pattern and complete a project – and we have a really super, garment for you next week, which is perfect for beginners.
