Description

Joanna loves to use silk for her patchwork as it comes in such vibrant colours and as you can see she makes delightful flowers on the cushion to create a garden effect (and if you haven’t seen her interview where she uses this as inspiration to print fabric – just click here).

Joanna doesn’t have the benefit of rotary cutting equipment so shows you how simple patchwork can be using tools you can create from your home stuff – i.e. from cardboard squares. As this is folded patchwork, you do need to remember that the size of the initial square is much bigger than the finished size (Joanne used a 12″ or 12.5 inch if you want to use your rotary square).

Simple folding and stitching create this lovely window patchwork. Think about the fabric you are going to put in the windows. For example, indeed a pair of cathedral window blocks can be used for a delightful and simple Christmas decoration, or pincushion.
