In this book there are designs for 21 different birds, suitable for kantha and other embroidery stitches.
Angela says: I have long been fascinated with birds and in 2020 I really began observing all the birds in my garden. I put out many different feeders and my “bird café” rewarded me with so many different species visiting the garden. As I watched I started to draw them and then in turn stitch them.
In this book there are patterns for 21 birds including; blue tit, long tail tit, bullfinch, goldfinch, haw finch, chaffinch, nuthatch, siskin, robin, starling, blackbird, wren, goldcrest, linnet, mistle thrush, sparrow, great spotted woodpecker, green woodpecker, pied wagtail, yellow wagtail, and jay. There are also many colour photographs of some of the birds in the book.
Comprehensive instructions are given for each bird including how to blend threads for a more realistic look. The book is suitable for all levels of ability as there are full instructions on transferring patterns and stitch diagrams.
The patterns and instructions are written for Kantha but you could use the patterns with other techniques such as embroidery, red work and appliqué.
The book is A4 and has 68 pages.
