Personalize your Project

The easiest way to add words, names, letters and numbers to your project is to use fused applique.

What is Fused Applique

This means that the raw edges of your applied fabric has glue on the back and therefore won’t fray – but you do still need to do some stitching.  The stitching choice is yours and will vary perhaps with the project.  Satin stitch, buttonhole/blanket stitch, straight stitch, zig-zag are the most common.

You will probably also want to consider the type of thread to use – toning or contrast, thick or thin.

A couple of tips to remember

Valerie shows you how to easily cut out the shapes with the bonding medium on the back and also a quick tip to remember about reversing the image.
