Despite Storm Jorge nothing stopped our ladies joining us for a great weekend with Val and Jennie at the Langstone Quays. One of the ladies even managed to get out of flood ravaged Worcester to make the weekend. We had a great group of students – some were our weekend regulars. Some were new to weekend retreats. Their reaction was “why had I not been before”!!.
Jennie started off the weekend with her Changing Places – it looked quite complex at first but the ladies all got their heads round it and produced some amazing work by the end of the day. Some even worked after supper until nearly midnight with a glass of beer or wine to help them on their way. No time to enjoy the leisure facilities offered at the Langstone on this weekend, although they did stop for refreshment breaks, and delicious lunch and dinner.
Sunday was given over to Val with her feature fabric quilts. What an array of fabrics the ladies had brought along with them and they went away with some amazing results.
Everyone worked very hard in in the sewing room with its views over then harbour. What a nice way to spend a weekend – good company, good teachers and lovely surroundings.
‘Just love your sewing weekends – I’ll be back’ was one of the parting comments.
