Lots of our contributors were found this weekend at the National Patchwork Championships at the Sandown Racecourse, Esher Surrey – Mandy Shaw (whose pinkeeper workshop went up this month) , Sue from Daisy Chain, Claire from Hannah’s Room, The Stitch Witch (Lynette Harris who has given us a great tip about using the twin needle when stitching bias stained glass patchwork),Pauline’s Patchwork, Hilary of The Silk Route (contribution coming soon), Maggie Davies, Sylvia Critcher, Helen Deighan, with her multicoloured outfit:
Dawn Cameron-Dick (who has done the brilliant lecture on threads and needles for us as well as the Invisible Machine Applique technique; her new Pocket Tutor book is now available) , Colouricious – the list goes on! AND I notice that Kim Shaw is there too.
Kim was present at a recent filming day and has shared a couple of workshop ideas which will be coming up soon on the site but you can also join her for a weekend on the Norfolk/Suffolk borders in September – the details can be found on the workshops page of our small ads https://www.justhands-on.tv/small-ads/category/8/
Jennifer Trollope is also demonstrating her embellishing techniques at Sandown using simple strips of fabric to create wonderful pictures and we have revived this workshop for all you embellishing fans.
This is the beautiful piece of work that was on display at the show:
Gail Lawther was also there promoting her workshops, lecture tour and book; Her video here on the site takes us to the Land of the Long White Cloud and shows us her stunning exhibition of work that was inspired by her visits to New Zealand, which is supported by her book Glimpses of New Zealand.
This is an annual event run by Grosvenor Shows and the dates for next year are 22nd-24th June – with the charity theme ‘In the Pink’ in aid of Breast Cancer Care. An entry form can be downloaded from their website www.grosvenorshows.co.uk
