Despite the threat of snow (and/or flooding) the show at Ardingly (near Gatwick Airport) was well attended;  there were great quilts, a variety of traders and the electricity stayed on!  I helped out on the Creative Quilting stand and we were certainly kept busy – lovely to say ‘hi’ to so many of you too.

I managed to do some personal shopping (fabric of course! BUT one that complimented some I already have AND I have already sewn up the small  wallhanging – its Japanese and in brown, gold and turq.blue) and got some great inspiration from Daisy Chain Designs in the form of patterns;  some great little no-sew sewing kits from The Stitch Witch;  patterns from Maggie Davies and a brand new, wonderful  set of patterns from Gail Lawther – entitled Enchanted Ocean;

So keep an eye on the shopping pages.

The Quilt gallery had quilts from students of Clare Kingslake;  a series of quilts by Ferrers Quilts ‘Out of Essex’;  a suitcase collection by Glasgow Gathering of Quilters;  Favourite Things by Hilary Beattie (Hilary had a quilt at Sandown last year which I coveted! and had it not left a space there were many on display that again I could have found a home for!!!);  Photo Magic by Jean Boat.

Other quilts included an exhibition of handquilting by Sandi Lush;  the Makower Challenge and the Journal Quilt Challenge

Many of these are part of the touring quilts exhibition so you will be able to enjoy them at other Grosvenor Shows during the year;  for more details you can check out the events page – Malvern, Harrogate, Exeter, Duxford, Kent, Edingburgh to name but some! –  and advance tickets can be purchased directly from their website.
