Nothing says "I Love You" like a quilt
With Valentine’s Day soon, why not spread the quilting love with a quilt. Whether it is for a loved one, or yourself, it will always be something to fall in love with. If you are looking for ideas, here are a few from Valerie, who has some lovely heart based workshops, tips and techniques:
Scrap Hearts Quilt is a very versatile block which you can make easily from your stash; or create simple hearts from squares and half-square triangle units. If you prefer something more modern (and great if you’re a beginner) – the modern pieced hearts quilt uses stitch and flip and no applique!
With Heart Applique Stitching, Valerie gives you tips on how to achieve a great satin stitch look for your hearts
Or why no have a delve into our shop and treat your self to a kit – this lovely Hearts a Plenty Hungry Caterpillar quilt kit from Lady Sew and Sew is perfect for young and old. Or the Heart Wallhanging Kit from Villavin Crafts comes complete with everything you need. For something a little different and again great for beginners, why not try the trapunto Summer Rose Stitchery kit by Sylvia Critcher. Alternatively
Hearts and Flowers by Lee Brown is a sweet little quilt pattern using hearts and flowers as the fused motives and simple squares.
