Quilting Retreat weekend Nov 2018 at the Warbrook Hotel, Eversley

A really fun time was had by these lovely ladies working with Jennie Rayment and Paula Doyle - Some of Jennie's class projects can be seen in the foreground fiddled and twiddled - and Paula's group worked on Easy Stack. If you give it a go, we promise the results will be amazing!

This range of 16 fabrics shows charming woodland creatures tiptoeing silently through the forest and meadows.  There are rabbits, deer and hedgehogs, plus co-ordinates with leave,s seed heads and floral prints. Valerie took the fabrics and to create this charming quilt using a pattern from Makower, designed by Lynne Goldsworthy a while ago.     There is another  free download pattern from Makower also designed by Lynne Goldsworthy to go with this range - here is the link to the free page which shows lots of patterns.

The Wotton Poppies – a final update

For those of you who have been following or joining in with the poppy project in Wotton, the knitted and crocheted poppies were put in place on St Mary's Church this week - in torrential rain!! Do watch this video to see how the endeavours of those in their community and from round the world have helped to create over 10,000 poppies to commemorate the lives of the 114 Wotton men who didn't return from the First World War.

Postcards from the front – a quilt that Valerie made

A friend found this amazing fabric which she kindly gave me and this was the first of a whole range of postcard quilts that I have been inspired to make.     This particular quilt was donated to the Star and Garter Home, Richmond and was raffled at their summer fete. The Royal Star & Garter Charity have provided an outstanding quality of nursing and therapeutic care to ex-Service men and women.

Dragonheart range of fabrics from Makower

This range of fabrics has heroic knights and firebreathing dragons in fun bright designs and colours.   Valerie made a very simple little quilt using the Bright Hope style block (which is easy to cut but has a partial seam technique to create the twist) . Makower have a free downloadable pattern which takes the fabrics to create an easy sew-tidy whose central motive is a very majestic castle (made with fused applique).

There is a choice of sewing one of these two wonderful jelly roll quilts with Sarah - skill level challenging   or one of these two with Pauline - skill level beginner - again from jelly rolls.
