Description

Block 1 of the sampler series. Daphne Morris continues with her completely reversible throw.  Demonstrating this simple block using a combination of knit and purl stitches to produce a regular brick pattern.

She covers a variety of tips and techniques that will give a great start to your knitted brick block.

These include starting your block with a garter stitch to give a stable edge for sewing up later, to altering the size of your needles and yarn to complete a smaller throw and casting off in rib.

Starting with this block is essential as although this is knitted over 60 stitches and 60 rows, the finished size of block determines the size of the subsequent blocks.

This 6 part series covers how to combine the knit and purl stitches to produce the variety of blocks. Together with the finishing techniques that square and join the blocks. Ending with making the beautiful tassels.
