The Sunbury Embroidery Gallery opened in the summer of 2006. In the first six months of opening, it attracted over 15,000 visitors.

The gallery is located in the southwest corner of the Walled Garden in Sunbury, which dates from the 18th century. Sunbury Park surrounds the garden on three sides, and it was relandscaped in 1986 to a formal design. Since 2004 it has been home to the Clematis Society’s southern collection of 300 plants.

The garden is a short walk from the River Thames. An interactive tactile guide is available for visually impaired visitors who wish to view the Sunbury Millennium Embroidery. The gallery is also an educational resource with space for occasional exhibitions. There is a café for visitors which serves teas, coffees, and light lunches.

Please phone in advance if you wish to make a group visit or would like any further information on the gallery.

The gallery also holds regular workshops in textiles. Visit the website or call for more information.
