About Sue
Sue is a prolific designer of quilt and patchwork patterns, as well as a popular tutor. In addition to appearing on justhands-on.tv, Sue is a regular on craft TV channel, Hochanda.
In 2000, Sue founded Daisy Chain Designs, a publisher of loose-leaf books, manuals and instructions for sewing projects. They also supply sewing machines, sewing software, fabrics, patterns, kits and lots of other exciting items.
According to Sue, “we started Daisy Chain Designs because I found so many exciting patterns and supplies for sale in the USA, but nothing much for us UK sewing fans! So I started importing patterns and other items from a network of USA designers and suppliers. And we’ve been going strong since then, adding more and more designs with many now from the UK.”
You will also find Sue exhibiting at the more popular national events and shows across the UK.

Top Tips
- Always remember to bond onto the “wrong side” of your fabric.
- Take a little extra time positioning your template pieces if the positioning of strong grain lines plays a role in your design
- Don’t wiggle your iron while bonding. It can distort your fabric. Plonk rather than push!
