Description
In this section, we catch up with Barbara Weeks in her gallery with her exhibition entitled ‘Trapping Colour, Catching Light.’ Barbara explores the Great Barrier Reef imagery, where the rainforest meets the sea in North Queensland, Australia, with its dazzling blue waters and white sandy shorelines. We also get to enjoy some of her more miniature journal quilts.
Barbara teaches around the country. She often spend time at Missenden Abbey.

We also wander around the exhibition with Winnie Egefjord to celebrate the 25 years of quilting by the Danish Patchwork Association. The group is a mixture of talented professionals and gifted amateurs, a perfect mix. Many people highly recommend hearing the stories of their quilts – including summer in Denmark and a profile of Karen Blixen of Out of Africa fame, and a few recipes.
Since August 2011, they have had a large exhibition of 125 Danish quilts in Ailsa Craig, Ontario, Canada.
