Daphne shows how to form a simple knitted diamond in block 2 of her Family Sample Throw series.
Description
Block 2 of the sampler series. Daphne Morris continues with her completely reversible throw. Demonstrating how a simple diamond pattern can be formed by moving knit and purl stitches in this stocking stitched block.
She explains how using a chunky needle enables the work to grow quickly. Beginning and ending with 2 rows of garter stitch for each block means that the diamond pattern shows beautifully on the finished block.
Daphne gives us plenty of tips which help us with our knitting. This includes having the cast off tail on the left of your work to know you are knitting on the front of your work. Also casting off in rib to ensure a neat edge for sewing your blocks together.
This 6 part series covers how to combine the knit and purl stitches to produce the variety of blocks. Together with the finishing techniques that square and join the blocks. Ending with making the beautiful tassels.
