Daphne Morris shows how blocking your knitting produces flatter garments and smoother seams.
Description
Daphne shares with us those finishing techniques that give a knitted garment a smoother, flatter look.
She demonstrates how to use pins and a pressing board to:
- stop seams rolling
- increase the size of garment pieces
- flatten seams for easier stitching
- accurately size pieces when altering pattern size or yarn.
Using a dry iron with an iron shield and a piece of damp calico helps to protect the yarn. She shows how applying pressure all over produces accurately sized blocked pieces.
