Valerie shares a delightful but addictive Pinwheel pattern that is Fat Quarter and Scrap friendly.
Description
Based on a Big Pinwheel as a focal point. Valerie Nesbitt shows how to make a stack of pinwheels for use in this versatile quilt.
There are tips on pairing fabrics, spinning the fabrics 2 ways, pressing the seams and notching together for accurate points. Creating a large pinwheel block which is subsequently cut into 5 1/2 inch squares.
Valerie demonstrates how to square up the blocks to create the half square triangle, mini pinwheels and rectangle blocks. These blocks are the design elements for the quilt. Surprisingly there is no right or wrong way to put these squares together.
A great quilt for you to play with and create your own design elements. All from a stack of blocks cut from a big pinwheel.
There are workshop notes available which will give you a starting point for this very versatile quilt. We would love you to send us pictures of your versions.
