Valerie Nesbitt showed us a super new Multi bag kit, our Product of the Month. This handy bag kit comes pre-cut, is very simple to assemble, and has minimal sewing. On the same day, we released a new workshop from Valerie using a stunning range of fabrics from Lewis and Irene called Santa’s Small Things. Also, Valerie showed you how to create a simple log cabin block, four of which make a cushion. There are free downloadable patterns for quilts, just in time for Christmas.
A week later, on Friday 10th November, we met textile artist Susan Rhodes when Valerie visited her studio in Wivenhoe, Essex. She talked about Susan’s inspirations, techniques, and love of hand sewing. And we returned to the studio with Marbling 4 Fun’s Craig Joubert and a delightful workshop from him. He demonstrated the use of stencils to produce a lovely Christmas tree design, which could involve the whole family as the marbling is non-toxic.

Valerie is the founder and Creative Director of justhands-on.tv , as well as our very own ‘Queen of Scrap’. She founded Creative Quilting, a quilt shop in Hampton Court, where she still teaches to this day.
Craig Joubert has been marbling since 1992 and loves to share his passion for marbling art with anyone willing to learn a new skill. He tells us that it might look complicated, but it is easy to do. Every design is unique. And it is fun to do for most ages.
Susan has been teaching embroidery for many years and loves to share her enthusiasm for a wide range of techniques.
