Videos available from 15th December 2017:
On Friday 15th December we have some brilliant ideas for last minute Christmas gifts and decorations from marbling 4 fun’s Craig Joubert as he shows how easy it is to create some really original gifts, by and for, all members of the family, as the inks are non-toxic. We are also in the studio with knitting expert Rosee Woodland who shows us a simple but brilliant tip for splicing the ends of hand wash wool together, with no added bulk and in the middle of a row.
And a week later on Friday 22nd Rosee Woodland demonstrates the knitting technique known as Two by Two rib – which is a variation of the one by one rib, and often used on the edgings of garments. Also on 22nd, we bring you a fantastic film from our archives; it is a very atmospheric film entitled The Shipping Forecast and shows 31 pieces of fabric and stitchery created by Delia Salter, that take us round the British Isles – and this remains Valerie’s personal favourite.
Finally this month, Friday 29th December, Rosee is back showing us a variety of how to pick up and knit stitches which allows you to head off in different directions and also maybe add other colours into the project – and great to use up those oddments of yarn that are often left lying around. And we join Carolyn Forster in the studio as she shows us how to create a very effective Castle Wall patchwork block which she is sewing by hand with a simple running stitch.
