Helen Butcher loves making 3D illusion quilts and shares with Valerie Nesbitt some of her ideas.
Description
3D illusion quilts are not as difficult as they may look. However, you do have to select your fabrics carefully so that you can create that illusion. Light, medium and dark is what’s necessary, and remember to audition the fabrics, as they may change their category depending upon their neighbour!
The accuracy is achieved because some of the quilts are foundation pieced. That means simply sewing on the line, but it is back to front and upside down!
