This quilt which is full of iconic London landmarks, is created with fused applique – so very straightforward to make.
Description
Isa talks to us about her very patriotic London quilt which she designed and for which you can purchase the pattern alone or complete with fabrics.
While it looks like a wholecloth, the iconic landmarks are fused onto a series of background squares, which when sewn together give the impression of being a single piece – so you could of course isolate any one of the blocks to make a smaller project.
Created in fused applique – Isa’s favourite patchwork style – it is simple to create by just tracing off the design, cutting it out, and fusing it onto the background fabric.
Sometimes the use of an applique sheet can help with the construction of some of the more complicated pieces.
and Isa has also fallen in love with Terial Magic – the new stablizer that doesn’t need to be torn out – which she talks about more in her video – and which you can enjoy by clicking here.
You can of course purchase the pattern and/or the kit through us.
The quilt was long arm quilted by Isabel Hall of Compton Quilting.
