Iron Caddy Tote sewing project with Valerie Nesbitt

This Caddy tote for your iron is  such a neat idea as it allows you to carry your iron safely – even when warm as it has a heat resitant lining, –  AND gives you a small surface on which to  iron on.

Description

This is a clever and practical idea for all of you who travel to classes.

The pattern is perfect for the regular size iron and is available in the shop. It includes the instructions and Heat Resistant Fabric needed. And in this workshop Valerie also goes through some of the salient points to help.

Exclusive to Justhands-on.tv is the offer of more Heat Resistant Fabric at the perfect size, which is available in the shop.

The pattern suggests using two layers of wadding. You could also think about Insulbrite wadding, which has a more heat-resistant quality.

There is also a Jr size which is for your travel iron (also available in the shop )

Here is a comment from Elizabeth about the project :

“Just to say thanks for the mini workshop on the iron caddy.  It was exactly what I needed to get going on the one I bought a while ago.  Am very pleased with the result and aim to order some more heat resistant fabric to do a couple more as gifts and even to have variety myself.”
