Workshop Notes

Caddy Tote workshop thoughts: Don’t forget to think about the colour of the bobbin thread as this will appear on the right side of your work. Valerie used grey thread to sew through the Heat Resistant Fabric Draw lightly with grey/lead pencil on the Heat Resistant Fabric Don’t forget to bring the bobbin thread up through the work at the start of your sewing to avoid having a birds nest on the right side of your fabric. Valerie used a quilting needle, as this has a bigger eye, and remember to test your sewing before you start (you can do this in the outside border of your work).

The pattern is perfect for the regular size iron and is available in the shop. It includes the instructions and Heat Resistant Fabric needed. And in this workshop Valerie also goes through some of the salient points to help.

The pattern suggests using two layers of wadding. You could also think about Insulbrite wadding, which has a more heat-resistant quality.
