Description
Sallieann Harrison has designed this delightful quilt around the Dresden plate block and then added patchwork and plain borders – so a great scrap stash buster.
This a quilt that has been created around the Dresden plate block and using a wide variety of fabrics – so rummaging into your fabric stash would be a great place to start.
There are nine Dresden plate blocks in total that have been pieced in rows of three. The centre is then bordered in a medallion style.
It features four borders in total. Border 1 is made of bricks and cornerstones, Border 2 is plain lemon, Border 3 is made of flying geese units and Border 4 is plain lemon. Finally, the quilt is bound using double fold binding, again, in plain lemon fabric
- Quilt finished size approx. 63 1/2”
- Finished Dresden plate block finished size 14” – nine blocks
- Flying geese units finished size 4” by 2” – 108 in total
- Brick units – finished size 3 ½ by 1 ¾” – 48 in total
- Cornerstone units – finished size 1 ¾” square – 4 in total
