Vendulka has put together this lovely book containing 11 new projects which combine several blocks. You can then combine them to make many other different projects.

There is also a forward from Lynne Edwards (MBE) well known for her own expertise with this traditional block.

The book contains step by step instructions, accompanied by photographs. The 11 projects include cushions and wall hangings plus an impressive double bed quilt, which combines most of the blocks taught in the book.

The technique uses different fabric for the background from the frame of the window. This gives the finished project more contrast and striking results. This is usually a hand patchwork technique but Vendulka shares with you how to work this by machine.

Vendulka currently owns and runs, together with her husband,  a quilt shop in Suffolk – Called Oliven – in the picturesque village of Monks Eleigh, Suffolk, and as well as being a mother to two small children still manages to be a quilt tutor, guest speaker, exhibitor, textile artist and quiltmaker – busy lady!
