Description

This modern block gains its interest from the visual twist. This requires the first seam to be sewn just part of the way along. The cutting though is very simple since all four sides are the same length. Valerie has used two fabrics sewn together, which she then treats as one. She likes to keep the pieces folded while cutting as she feels this gives a more precise finish.

When sewing, it doesn’t matter which way the twist goes. However, all the blocks do need to twist in the same direction. While Valerie saves the pressing of the block until the end, she does keep this in mind when sewing over the seams.
