We had a great day back in the studio with Fiona Goble and Sue Rhodes this month.
Sue shared the idea of thermofax screen printing with us. She uses it to create some lovely designs which can then be embellished with stitching. Then she went on to show us how to work the ‘New York Beauty’ patchwork block with a fascinating chain piecing method – despite being foundation pieced. And then she shared her own design for English Paper Pieced Dresden plates. She calls it Daisy Dresden and it comes in both a 12 inch block size and a 24 inch size (perfect for a table cloth, or tree skirt).
We were also joined in the studio by Fiona Goble. She’ll be showing us how to create the lovely features for her rabbit scarf. She also has a great workshop on how she knits animal toes without having lots of ends to sew in. Plus she’ll show us a very clever joining stitch called ‘ The Mattress stitch’ which she loves to use and allows you to have a flat seam when adding layers.
Fiona will be joining us for a knitting retreat in February 2020. If you fancy a weekend away at a lovely hotel and spa, filled with knitting, knattering, do come and join us. You’ll find more details of the February retreat if you click here
