In December 2018 Quilt Now Magazine sat down with quilting icon and You Tube sensation Valerie Nesbitt for an interview to discover more about her five decades of quilting and justhands-on.tv.
Included in the interview with Valerie, we find out what’s currently on her sewing table and how she got into quilting in the first place. Similarly, what inspired her to start justhands-on.tv. You can also learn about what’s involved with making the videos to make them successful and enjoyable workshops.
Here’s one of Valerie’s answers that we like, to the question “If you could give your younger self one piece of quilting advice, what would it be?”
Valerie’s answer is ” Two things maybe; I have managed to teach myself a little patience – it it better to do it right the first time since unpicking is very time wasteful. Also, despite being adults, we are not instant experts. We still need to practice and it is something we should enjoy. The journey and experience of making my projects is still the best part”
