Learn Goldwork techniques with Wendy Mansfield
Enjoy a very special weekend of goldwork embroidery with Wendy Mansfield. Throughout the weekend you will learn goldwork techniques and how to handle metal threads. We will cover 6 to 7 different techniques including handling pearl purl, spiral rope, wire check and check thread. Wendy will also guide you through padding techniques with leather kid.
You’ll receive a kit with all materials needed to finish one of the three designs of your choice. Each design varies based on the techniques used. You can expect to finish a design within the weekend. The cost for this kit is included in your retreat fee. Wendy will also bring additional kits which you can buy and work on during the weekend.
A weekend retreat for £450 per person
Classes will take place in the hotel from 10 – 4 on Saturday and 10 – 4 on Sunday AND you can work until late, late, late on Saturday evening if you want.
Lunch and refreshments will be served on both days, plus dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

New Place Hotel, Hampshire
New Place Hotel will be our home for the weekend. Located in the Hampshire countryside and easily accessible from A3, M3, A31, M27, the hotel offers a perfect countryside setting, blending traditional and modern spaces over 32 acres of landscaped gardens. It is an ideal location for sewing retreats with modern teaching settings and accommodation and a restaurant in the Manor House. There is a Fitness Centre and pool and you are welcome to enjoy the use of its facilities during your stay; so you can use the gym or just relax by the pool and enjoy a quiet moment in the jacuzzi. The choice is yours! There is also free parking and free wifi. Indeed, New Place offers everything you need for the perfect weekend retreat.

Materials are not included in the cost of the retreat. If appropriate, a requirements list will be sent to you near to the date of your retreat.
