As Valerie says in her workshop it’s very nice and easy to make and quick too since you have most of the fabric pre-cut for you! The lovely bright and cheerful fabrics for the kit are from a range called Super Snack 2 and the kit comes complete with precut squares, 2 fat 1/4′, fabric for the flat piping and border and full instructions. The finished size, with borders, is 50 ” x 40″. The basic lily block is constructed with simple squares, folded and sewn, as is the basket and uses bias strips created without any gadgets. These are oil based and create interesting pictures which can then be stitched into. Simple stencil shapes are made out of cartridge paper. Watch Now+ BOOK OF THE MONTH: Natural Dyeing: Hints, Tips and Techniques by Angela DaymondOur Book of the Month for March is Angela Daymond’s brand new book Natural Dyeing: Hints, Tips and Techniques. This A5 book encourages you to learn about and try the ancient technique of natural dyeing.You’ll learn about mordants and techniques such as pan dyeing, steaming and bundling. The book includes a little about the history of natural dyeing and has easy to follow instructions which avoids the use of technical language. It encourages you to have fun and have a go.It has colour illustrations throughout and consists of 43 pages.
