Wool Applique with Sallieann Harrison
Last week, Sallieann Harrison shared with us her love of wool applique which can be done by hand or by machine. The piece in this picture was worked by hand and it closely resembles penny rugg work. Sallieann likes to use cotton perle thread (which is not stranded). In the workshop she talks us through how to work various embroidery stitches that she feels add texture to a snowdrop picture. They are inviting quilters across the globe to send in images of their quilting projects. They are looking for everything from wall hangings and bed covers to bags, cushions, scrubs and masks– if it’s quilted, they would love to see it – made either on the theme of travel or created during lock down.
