BOOK OF THE MONTH:
Cathedral Windows – new views by Vendulka Battais
Our Book of the Month for March is Cathedral Windows – new views by Vendulka Battais It contains 11 new delightful projects using this traditional pattern but with a faster machine pieced method. The projects which combine several blocks. means you can then combine them to make many other different projects. The book contains step by step instructions, accompanied by photographs. The 11 projects include cushions and wall hangings plus an impressive double bed quilt, which combines most of the blocks taught in the book.
The technique uses different fabric for the background from the frame of the window. This gives the finished project more contrast and striking results. This is usually a hand patchwork technique but Vendulka shares with you how to work this by machine.
PLUS it comes with FREE shipping in the UK for the month of March 2022. Buy Now +
Free Motion quilting with Paula Doyle – part 3
In the final part of this series, there are more helpful instructions from Paula, this time on feathers and borders. You will notice throughout that Paula doesn’t get too anxious about being right on the drawn line (as you will remove these later anyway!) – just make sure that you have a nice curve to your feather or vine. Machine Tying your Quilt with Paula Doyle
