She suggests that when sewing quarter inch seams these offcuts are used to start and finish the seams. Thus producing a pile of scrap blocks from the leaders and enders. Saving these up and sewing them together into a scrap quilt will give you a quilt for free.  Valerie shows you how easy it is to bond those pieces from your patchwork bin, some of which could be the tiny ‘ears’ that get cut off your patchwork triangles, or those smaller triangles from your stitch & flip patchwork, to which you could add pieces of thread too – after all those colours are really lovely.
