Wild Gardens workshop with Kate FindlayKate is a very accomplished artist and loves creating textile pictures. Today, we have a fantastic mixed media textile workshop from her, in which she shares some of her design ideas to help you create your own wild garden landscape. It’s easy to do at home. You would start with some pre-dyed fabric perhaps. Then with a little help from freezer paper stencils (just tracing and cut out) you add your fabric paint. Watch Now+ If you’d like to learn with Kate, why not come and join us for her Wild Gardens workshop at our Textile weekend retreat in March. Over the weekend Kate will take you through a range of processes including block printing, stencil cutting, sponging and other mark making to build up a rich background. On top of this, you will then add raw-edge fabric pieces cut into flower and leaf shapes to really bring your wild garden picture to life, finishing with free motion embroidery and embellishment by hand.
