Enjoy a very special weekend of slow stitching with Wendy Mansfield. Use your favourite modern and vintage fabric scraps as well as those bits of lace and buttons that you couldn’t bear to throw out. Learn new stitches. Try out new creative ideas. Capture a special memory.
The weekend has been structured for beginners through to more experienced embroiderers. You will learn several embroidery techniques, including Sashiko and Shisha Mirror Embroidery.
At the end of the weekend, you will have a foundation for a Sampler Book that you can continue stitching when you get home, to then share with friends and family. You’ll receive a linen foundation book as part of the retreat. The cost for this book is included in your fee.
Wendy will also bring spare fabric pages which you can add your designs to. Buttons, lace, ribbons, and threads will be for sale on the day.
A weekend retreat for £470 per person
Classes will take place in the hotel from 10 – 4 on Saturday and 10 – 4 on Sunday AND you can work until late, late, late on Saturday evening if you want.
Lunch and refreshments will be served both days, plus dinner Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

New Place Hotel, Hampshire
New Place Hotel will be our home for the weekend. Located in the Hampshire countryside and easily accessible from A3, M3, A31, M27, the hotel offers a perfect countryside setting, blending traditional and modern spaces over 32 acres of landscaped gardens. It is an ideal location for sewing retreats with modern teaching settings and accommodation, and a restaurant in the Manor House. There is a Fitness Centre that you are welcome to use during your stay. So you can use the gym or just relax by the pool and enjoy a quiet moment in the jacuzzi. The choice is yours! There is also free parking and free wifi. Indeed, New Place offers everything you need for the perfect weekend retreat.

Additional information If you pay in full by Credit Card, a £50 deposit is part of your payment and is non-refundable. If you pay in two stages (deposit & balance), your deposit of £50 is non-refundable.
