We are bursting with cushions and applique this week!. In this new workshop, Sallieann works on the Four Hearts block – an introduction into the world of applique. She works with ‘life changing’ fusible web that she says makes applique so easy. She also has a great tip for making the hearts more flexible to work with, by removing some of the bulk of the fusible web before applying it on the heart. Watch Now+

Corners in the Cabin patchwork technique with Valerie Nesbitt
This is a simple method of adding folded corners to your patchwork to give a 3D dimension. In this workshop Valerie Nesbitt used this technique on an Amish inspired log cabin cushion, where she added yellow corners. Naïve Applique with Anne Baxter
In this workshop Anne shows us how to work this simple applique that has no raw edges. This is such a great idea for applique but only works with really simple, naïve shapes. It does away with all those raw edges which leaves you free to use simple running stitch and focus threads. Watch Now+
How to make a Cushion with an Oxford Flap with Anne Baxter
The Oxford Flap adds interest to a simple cushion without too much endeavour and is one of Anne’s favourite finishing techniques when she makes cushions. Anne likes the idea of making all four borders the same length, to give interest and a twist to the design.
