Scrap 9 Patch quilt with Valerie Nesbitt
Did you see last week, how Valerie was inspired by a picture of a traditional scrap nine-patch quilt on the front of a calendar. She realised that she could turn those little 2″ x 5″ braids and scrappy bits into this traditional 9-patch block and quilt. In the workshop she suggests strip piecing and then sub-cutting as this gives a more precise set of 3 squares, which in turn gives you perfect piecing. Watch Now+

First she makes the cushion from the scraps/left overs of the quilt and then she attaches it to the quilt back, where it will be hidden. The lovely part of this is that when the secret cushion quilt is in use, the cushion becomes a perfect spot to slip your feet into! your own ingeniousness.
