She suggests using your sewing machine to create a design on the top. This could be a great opportunity for you to try out some of those stitches and/or threads you have always wondered about. You could just as easily work this by hand with simple embroidery stitches – and therefore one for the younger generation too – maybe chain stitch and running stitch.
