BOOK OF THE MONTH:
Jelly Roll Bargello Quilts
Our Book of the Month for January is Jelly Roll Bargello Quilts by Karin Hellaby. Bargello quilt making looks complex and difficult. But these quilts and projects consist entirely of straight seams and rectangular pieces which create the mesmerizing optical illusion of graceful movement, waves and curves. So, any beginner quilter who has some Jelly Roll and can sew a straight seam can master these quilts. As our Book of the Month for January it comes with FREE P&P in the UK Buy Now+
Learn Bargello at a justhands-on.tv Retreat
Or why not come and have some hands on teaching of Bargello and sign up for our newly announced Bargello Retreat in October 2020. This quilt looks amazing, and so complicated! But look more closely and you’ll see that it’s all straight seams. No difficulty there! If you can cut an accurate 1 ½” strip and sew an accurate ¼” seam then you can make one of these and some new friends over the retreat weekend. More Info+
Thermofax printing with Sue Rhodes
Thermofax screen printing is very straightforward, simple and needs very little space. Sue takes us through the process of creating your own fabric. This can then be used in patchwork projects and perhaps embellished and enhanced with a little bit of embroidery. The screen prints can also be used to make cards and are particularly good for lettering. So, this would perhaps be a great idea for special occasion project. Watch Now+
