As you’ll see, making sure that all the bits of a fused picture are in the right place used to mean marking your background fabric; but with the use of this fusible sheet you can make the picture up first and then transfer it. Watch Now+ Straight stitch fused appliqueThis week Valerie shows us this modern way of tackling applique – no turned edges. you just trace, cut out and fuse with the iron. but then you do need to do some stitching. The simple straight stitching that Valerie shows you can be done on smaller projects with the open toed applique foot but on larger projects you probably need to give the free-motion stitching a try.
