Description
We continue in our series of on quilting with Paula with this workshop which is on free-motion filler stitches.
Paula starts off by talking us through her quilting sandwich, setting up the machine – reminding us which foot to use and helps us by using high contrast thread so that we can see what she’s doing which is a great idea when you are practising – which you need to do!!!!
Paula also reminds us that the back of the quilt is just as important as the front, so she shows us how to bring that bottom thread up through to ensure that we don’t make a birds nest on the back.
In the workshop Paula covers Pebble stitch (one of her favourites), basic stipple; spirals;free form floers; e-vines; flame stipple and concentric tears
So lots for you to have a go with!
There is now more from Paula –
Free motion Part 2 – using filler stitches and a pre-marked design
and Free motion Part 3 on Feathers and borders
and don’t forget her other workshops in this series:
Marking and layering your quilt.

What an excellent video on freehand machine stitching, the best that I have seen for clear explanations on lifting the thread so as not to get it tangled underneath. I have watched many videos on freehand stitching but never have they been so clear on the important détails. A very enjoyable video indeed,Thank you Paula.
