Carolyn designed this to be used with a jelly roll, but you could cut your own 2.5 inch strips from stash to create this stunning quilt.
Carolyn has several versions of this quilt to show you -and each of them as lovely as the last. It is a great use of the jelly roll or indeed strips of scrap fabric. You could also increase the size of the strips to create a lovely quilt from just 4 blocks!
Even the background can be scrappy, as long as the fabrics have the same tonal value.
Carolyn does use the sewing machine in her demonstration. However, you could just as easily sew this block by hand, even with the partial seam technique.
If you have enjoyed the partial seam technique, but would like to see more then here are some workshops that might be of interest.
