What Isa says about her shop
More than just a quilt shop, we consider Creative Quilting to be a place where you can learn, be inspired and motivated.
Creative Quilting was founded back in 1989. Starting with about 5 bolts of brown fabrics, things have somewhat changed a bit…
We now stock about 2,000 bolts of fabrics. We have hundreds of books, notions and all sorts of tempting goodies to make quilts. We also stock beads, buttons, wool felt, ribbons among other things.
All members of staff do know which end of a needle to thread and, even if we are not all professional quilters, we always do our best to help you achieve the quilt of your dreams.
We do run classes during the week, at weekends and some Wednesday evenings when the shop remains open until late (9pm).
open 7 days a week (nothing worse than running out of threads on Sunday 11am!!) and we attend most of the major quilt shows in the UK (and we try to jump on a plane to Houston every 2 or 3 years to go to Quilt Festival and bring back lots of ideas and new gadgets from the US. It is also very nice to be in Texas end of October…)
How to get there:
By train: we are 30 seconds away from Hampton Court Station which is the last stop on the train line from Waterloo Station. Check the map to the right for all the details.
By car: we are easy to access from the M3, from the M25/A3. You can park for free on Bridge Road (you DO NOT need a permit after 9.30am)
By bus: lots of buses from Kingston go to Hampton Court Palace, you then just need to cross the bridge. The 411 will take you to Hampton Court Station.
By bike: you can secure your bike to the sign post outside Mercado, just opposite us
By horse: lots of horses about, but then again this is Surrey!
By Floo Powder network: we do have several chimineys in the shop, we have put a request to the Ministry of Magic. We are awaiting reply (yes, we do love Happy Potter!!)
