Description
An 8 pointed star can be a challenge with it’s inset or Y seams but as always Jennie makes it all look easy; very comprehensive instructions (and workshop notes) and if you do it her way you will have a great result.
Jennie gives you alternatives for two different sizes -10″ and 12″ blocks .
You will also find out how to use your ruler to cut long diamonds and use the angles too. – did you always wonder why they were there!
This star was an alternative block for the corners but really does stand up on it’s own.
If you would like to learn more about the Rosebud Fayre quilt, you can enjoy the taster by clicking here: in this Jennie & Val talk about making this lovely quilt in installments ; it is perfect for beginners but there will also be some challenges for those more accomplished sewers.
The name Rosebud Fayre was taken from the range of fabrics that were used designed by the UK company Makower – the Henley Quilt Studio
We have another workshop on inset seams from Jennie in which she uses the tumbling block as an example. click here to enjoy it
