Simple and effective modern quilts showcase the fabric beautifully.
Traditionally patchwork consists of taking perfectly good fabric, cutting it up into little pieces and then sewing it back together again!
To create a modern (looking) quilt you do the same thing. Here though the pieces are bigger so that the feature fabric is showcased. There is lots of background fabric – often grey or tone/tone white or cream. The quilting is simple too – often straight lines with the walking foot.
Here Valerie shows you three examples which are easy to adapt to a fabric that is perhaps talking to you from your stash, and also gives you workshop information on another – again simple squares and simple straight sewing.
