Taster: Hand Embroidery for the Sugar and Spice Quilt Project with Karen Crookes

Description

Sugar and Spice Project part 10: Hand Embroidery.

Karen Crookes continues the embellishing for the Sugar and Spice quilt project.

You will learn how to use hand embroidery to transfer the picture onto the fabric, choosing the optimal type of threads, and the different stitches that can be used to create the image: stem stitch, running stitch, backstitch and French knot. The blank panels of the blocks start to come alive in this tutorial.

There are lots of valuable tips in this video, including: hiding the threads to ensure the end product looks perfect, using a light weight interfacing or calico if you embroider outside of the block, and choosing the optimal type of thread.
