The Great Northern Quilt Show, which incorporated the Great Northern Needlecraft Show, was held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, N.Yorks in Sept 2012. This is an annual event with competitions as well as displays. Dates for this year are 30 Aug – 1st Sept 2013.
We get to enjoy not only the winning quilt entitled Floriade by Jacqueline Martin, but also some convergence quilts; there is a judges choice from Sylvia Cricher entitled Jubilee Drive and there are some lovely wholecloth quilts.
Valerie selects (quite by chance) another piece by Hilary Beattie to show you (her group will be having a display in Ledbury 30th April-12 May – more details in the events page and we plan to take the camera’s too!)
