This folded patchwork potholder is both traditional and useful too, particularly as there are so many layers of fabric that it remains reasonably heat protective on any surface.
All you need to make this traditional potholder is straightforward folding and sewing. And at Christmas you could think about adding some spices (such as cloves).
Use of heat resistant wadding and/or heat resistant fabric is also something you could consider.
Most of the sewing is large, out of sight and tacked onto a background fabric – so anyone can do it!
In the video Valerie shows you how to make sure all the creases stay in place and on the right lines as well as helping you to avoid having Vesuvius at the end – with the bias binding!
