TASTER: Double Patchwork Binding Technique with Sallieann Harrison
FREE Tasters (Quilting) • Educational, G, 23-Oct-2020
This double binding technique gives you such a lovely finish on the front of your quilt (or project). It is straightforward under Sallieann’s guidance.
She gives you measurements for both 2 1/2″ and 3″ binding (which is cut straight, not on the bias). She also talks you through the mitred corners and has a really neat tip on how to join the ends back with a mitred join.
The final stage of anchoring the binding when you’ve turned it onto the front of your quilt, is done also using the sewing machine. Stitching in the ditch with either toning or invisible thread are both more forgiving for the beginner. For those accomplished quilters, you can think about having a fancy or variegated thread to really show off.
