TASTER: Crossing Points with Helen Howes
Educational, G, 13-Sep-2019
Another of Helen’s clever ideas using pre-cut 5″ squares (but you could take layer cakes too and subdivide them).
Make a lovely quilt, turn the squares into a bag or table runners, all easy to make and your choice.
The simple squares are first sewn together as a four patch; you cut them apart (keeping yourself safe by turning the cutting mat), move the pieces and then sew them together again – what could be simpler.
At the end too, you can trim all the blocks to be an identical size, so a great block to share and make a group quilt.
To create the modern look, just combine the charm packs with two background squares – either white or a dark colour – they both work well, and the quilting can be simple too – just use your walking foot and some wavy lines.
