This is the first part of our visit to the show and grounds of Hever Castle including an interview from Duncan Leslie, the CEO of Hever Castle.
Patchwork & Quilting at Hever Castle
This weekend show took place in the grounds of Hever Castle in Kent and it was a celebration of 20 years of quilting in the grounds.
In the quilting marquee we are treated to the delights of the quilts made by members of Region 2 of the Quilters Guild; there was also a table of inspiration for the Young Quilters and a stand by the British Quilt Study group.
The Region hold an annual competition which is judged, and this year the title was ‘In A Country Garden’ and we enjoy not only the quilts but also talking to Dorothy Thompson who was the maker of the winner in the Judges Choice category.
If you would like to know more about the Quilters Guild, it has divided the British Isles into 18 different regions so there is bound to be one near you- visit www.quiltersguild.org.uk to find out.
The Show dates at Hever Castle for later this year are 14-16th September 2012. For further details about this and other events that are held throughout the year at Hever Castle and open times call 01732 865224
