Description
Showcase the fabrics and make quilts quickly and easily; this quilt uses small quantities of bright fabric to great effect and the background is a mixture of tone-on-tone whites. Greys are also used a lot in modern quilts as they too showcase the main fabrics.
Valerie shows you how to make the quilt with contrast strips in a square, but in the background you can see examples of starting with a rectangle – food for thought.
Quilting tends also to be simple – straight lines or something complimentary to the pattern, such as echo quilting – so the walking foot would be an excellent choice.
If you need help with that you could go to ‘How to fit your walking foot’ or ‘Simple Wavy line quilting’ .
